Nero Ingo & Oak U-Shaped Kitchen
This project showcases a striking Fenix Nero Ingo and oak colour-block kitchen for a U-shaped kitchen in a family home. The wall cabinets are veneered in crown-cut oak and the base cabinets are laminated in Fenix Nero Ingo.
The matte black base cabinet fronts offer a bold contrast with the oak wall cabinet fronts and exposed plywood stripes. Recessed circle handle design.
The cabinets are constructed from 18mm birch plywood and are lap jointed together. The fronts are set inside the frame, exposing the cabinet's beautifully striped plywood edges, creating lines and adding structure to the design.
Includes 19 cabinets with 25 doors and 7 drawers, providing ample storage space. The plywood drawer boxes feature dovetail detailing at the front and back, and are finished in a hardwearing water-based lacquer. BLUM soft-close hinges and runners used as standard - to ensure smooth and quiet operation.
The handles are precisely routed using a J-cutter directly into the plywood, to create a lip that exposes the beautiful layers of birch inside the handle. Completed with a matching oak / Nero Ingo back.
Thoughtful details, such as designing the drawer handles to meet and mirror each other, add dimensionality to the kitchen.
