Custom Doors, Drawer Fronts, and End Panels for IKEA Kitchen Cabinets
This project features 27 custom doors, drawer fronts, and end panels designed to revamp an existing IKEA kitchen. Matte black slab doors contrast with exposed plywood stripes. Built-in semi-recessed handles create a minimalist look.
Constructed from 18mm birch plywood, the fronts are laminated with Fenix Nero Ingo on both the front and back, a self-healing laminate providing a durable and sleek finish.
The handles are recessed curvy rectangles with an 8mm corner radius. Precisely routed using a J-cutter directly into the plywood, to create a lip that exposes the beautiful layers of birch inside the handle. Completed with a contrasting birch back.
Thoughtful details, such as designing the drawer handles to meet and mirror each other, add dimensionality to the kitchen.
